A disease that is rising to epidemic proportions is diabetes. Because of the increased number of people who are obese, diabetes has been on the rise. Over 21 million Americans have diabetes.

Diabetes type 2 is a disease that interferes with your bodys ability to process insulin. Being overweight makes your body less likely to detect and process insulin. Because of this insulin remains in the blood instead of being turned into energy.

Obesity has been linked to other health problems. Research has concluded that by losing body fat and maintaining a healthy weight it will improve your health.

For some people fat is distributed differently than others. People who are most at risk for diabetes is when extra fat is being held on the midsection. These are the people most at risk for diabetes.

People who live sedimentary lives and who eat poorly are most at risk for diabetes. The solution is to eat more healthy vegetables, fruits, and lean proteins and exercise daily. You have to get the body moving to change your health for the better.

Carbohydrates need to be chosen wisely. You need to avoid simple carbs that burn very quickly and eat complex carbs like whole grains.

The truth is that there is a significant connection between type 2 diabetes and obesity. However, the great news is that that connection is within your control so that you can make simple changes to affect your own health and well-being for years to come!

Drinking tea is something the people of China have been doing for thousands of years. Recently in the states more and more people are starting to drink tea. There are all kinds of teas: black, white, green, red, jasmin, wu long, and oolong. Teas are known to help with weight loss and lower stress levels. The question does tea speed up your metabolism is most certainly an important one.

There has been research to conclude that tea does in fact raise your metabolism. There is another study going on currently that compares weight loss from people who take caffeine supplements to those who just drink tea. The tentative results say that the people who drank tea are losing more weight.

There are a number of teas found in the market today that are beneficial for your health and metabolism and each tea have their own unique properties. So when you want to increase your metabolism and shed a few extra pounds, then think about adding green tea, oolong-tea, white-tea or other low caffeine teas to your diet.

The less processing a food undergoes the better it is for you. Take for example fresh fruit or vegetables compared to juices. The whole food will be lower on the index than the juices. While you do not have to be a vegetarian, it can help reduce other problems associated with diabetes. Cardiovascular problems are common with diabetes and eliminating all animal products will greatly reduce cholesterol and other health problems from them.

The other thing to watch out for are foods with high levels of saturated and trans fats. These can cause heart disease and other complications and should be avoided at all cost.

One basic rule you can use when trying to pick out the healthiest vegetables is that the ones with darker colors are better. In addition, cauliflower, green beans, carrots, broccoli, chili and peppers, are very good for you.

The tea oolong is a mixture of green teas and black teas. It has been around for centuries and many actually drink oolong to relieve and cure headaches. To understand what causes headaches and why you may have gotten them after drinking lets look at what makes up oolong.

All teas go throught a fermentation process. Black tea goes through the process and through that black tea contains about 40mg of caffeine per cup. So this type of tea should be drank in limited quantities. It so happens that oolong tea is made up of some black tea. So if you drink a lot of oolong tea headaches can occur.

The second ingredient in Oolong tea is Green tea. Green tea is made in a more natural process without fermenting and it only contains 20mg caffeine per cup. It is full of antioxidants and has been found to help with weight loss in helping to fight heart disease and cancer.

Many people of china drink tea for medicinal purposes. One such treatment it is used for is to cure headaches. Researchers believe that when you have a headache tea helps to reduce the problem. It depends on your weight and genetics with how much you should drink.

People that suffer from headaches when taking Oolong tea may do so for any number of reasons. One of the reasons is the person is not used to drink caffeine therefore they can get a caffeine headache. Opposite of this may be that the person has reduced their caffeine intake, as too much is also not good and they are having withdrawals from the caffeine.
