I’ll admit I’m biased towards layered cuts. But for sure it doesn’t take much of a crystal ball to claim layered haircuts for women aren’t apt to go away any time soon. Especially when there are three good reasons which account for their popularity.

One, the layered haircut suits various face shapes.

Two, layers add volume to your tresses while giving them extra bounce. Leaving you with a classy and trendy look that’s hard to beat.

Three is all the styling options you’ve got with layered hair. Which is true whether you’ve got naturally curly, wavy or straight hair.

Yet I feel an easily overlooked advantage is how layers can change the appearance of your face. Let’s quickly look at but one example of how that works.

Those with round faces might be better off with long layers for instance. Taking this approach you’ll find narrows your face in most flattering way.

Still, whether or not this is appropriate with your face shape can be discussed with your hair dresser. But for most it can make a huge difference.

Then too, you often have choices in terms of how many layers are cut where. Each changes the look of the style. Sometimes dramatically. Letting you try out different hairstyles to see which gives you the most glamorous new you.

For instance if you have long hair you could go with a layered haircut that has a few layers limited to only the last three or four inches of hair. So you could just have a flip cut at the level of the shoulders and the rest of the hair in one length. If you don’t care for the flips you could get side swept bangs.

Don’t forget that all textures and types of hair benefit from layers being added. Also layering works extremely well with wavy hair, looks good with straight hair and helps naturally curly hair to stay in line. With fine hair layers create the illusion of fullness and added volume.

Obviously there’s nothing to stop you from playing with color too while you are at it too. Because highlights look great with layered hair. Taking it a step further you could change your color completely. Changing to a darker base color followed by lighter steaks on top of that. And image what that would do for your appearance.

Yes I’m a layered hair enthusiast. But can you blame me? So why not change your look into something layered? As a women it’s your prerogative to change your mind. Why not change your hair too?
