Bring Out Your Beauty With The Magic Of Cosmetics

Beauty enhancing cosmetics are available in a wide range of products thanks to great advances in our modern cosmetics industry. To beautify our personal appearance most people opt for cosmetics to enhance their allure and with such a wide range available, the current range and variety is unsurpassed.

Some preparation is required before applying your make up, to ensure that the overall effect is longer lasting. Your first step is to select a cleansing lotion designed to suit the unique needs of your skin and to thoroughly cleanse your face, neck and decolletage area. This is akin to a painter preparing his canvas before setting out to create a wonderful masterpiece.

Toning solutions are highly under-rated, but are an essential step to refining your pores and aid in the removal of any lingering traces of cleansing lotion. They serve prevent daily grime from settling in the pores and clogging them. Be sure to invest in a richly moisturizing lotion that is, once again, designed to cater to the unique needs of your skin type.

At this point you should apply a blemish stick to disguise any blemishes or skin discoloration that you may have. Use a good quality concealing stick to disguise dark circles under your eyes. You are now ready to apply your foundation. Select a shade that is as close as possible to your own, keeping in mind that foundation should look as natural as possible as it is a base layer used to minimize the appearance of minor blemishes.

Ensure that your foundation is blended smoothly into your hairline and that you blend it over your jaw line onto your throat, not stopping abruptly in a distinct hard line that will give an unnatural look. Do not neglect the eyes and apply a small amount of foundation to both upper and lower lids. Whether you prefer a loose or compact powder, always apply it in light, sweeping motions, not forgetting your throat and decolletage area. Select a natural shade to blend in with your foundation.

Your preference for the color of your eyeshadow is partly up to personal taste and may also be dictated by the color of your eyes. Do not use an eyeshadow that matches your eye color as this will detract from it, giving your eyes a muddy cast. Match your makeup to the occasion, using lighter shades for day wear and darker tones for evening functions.

Generally those with blue, grey and green eyes should choose a warmer palette, while those with dark eyes, whether brown or dark blue, can lean more towards the cooler spectrum of the color palette. Eyeliner defines the eyes beautifully and should be applied to both upper and lower lids to define and enhance the shape of your eyes.

When applying your eyeshadow, use darker tones for the crease and lid area. You can also apply some color to the lower lid, just beneath the lashes. Use a lighter shade of shadow above the crease along the brow bone and then slick a dark or complimentary shade of mascara onto the lashes of both upper and lower eyelids. When applying your blusher, follow the hollow of the cheeks beneath the cheekbones. The final step in your beauty regime is to complete the look with a rich shade of lipstick or gloss and to retouch during the day as necessary.

There are many steps that can be taken to remain youthful and radiant. Hair removal, exercise, skin care, hair care and a trip to the beauty salon can all help this process.

Things That Can Affect The Success Of Laser Hair Removing

May 17, 2010 by Sean A. LaCent

Most people have some unwelcome hair that they would love to dispose of. They might use strategies such as shaving, waxing, or hair removal creams in order to get rid of this hair on a brief basis. A technique to dump hair on a permanent basis is laser hair removal. Nevertheless this system will work better on some people than others.

First of all, since melanin is targeted during laser hair removing, this technique works best for people that have lighter skin. They have developed lasers which will work for those with darker skin, but the results are still not as good as those that may be achieved for those with lighter skin.

Hair color also affects the successfulness of laser hair removal. Obviously, dark hair will be better centered by the lasers, especially if the skin color is light so there is a larger contrast. The bigger the contrast between skin color and hair color the better the lasers will work.

Thickness of hair can also affect the results, with tougher hair being easier to remove than thinner hair. The thicker hair will show up better against the skin, making it easier for the laser to target it. This implies that coarse, dark hair and light skin make the best mixture for these kind of treatments. Those with thin, light hair or with thin dark hair and dark skin might need to look into other options for hair removing.

The type of laser used can also affect the result of laser hair removal. Some kinds of lasers work the best in certain situations, so be certain to speak with the technician to discover which type will work the best for your hair type and skin type, and ensure that is the type that’s utilised for your treatments.

Clearly, the experience of technician will also contribute. Inexperienced technicians are more likely to screw up, which could result in burns or a less successful treatment. The technician would possibly not be as educated on the benefits and disadvantages of the different types of lasers in different situations, and so may not use the best one for your treatments.

Be sure to mention any medicines you’re taking when you debate your treatment choices with the technician, as some medicines and hormonal changes can also affect the success of laser hair removal.

Laser hair removal has become more typically offered by businesses in the beauty industry. You do not necessarily have to go to a hospital or doctor’s office any more to get this treatment done. However , it’s a sensible idea take a look into the qualifications and experience of the person that will be doing your treatment in order to make sure that the treatment is probably going to go well.

It’s also important to remember that since different hairs grow at different rate it isn’t feasible to lose all unwanted hair with one laser hair removing treatment. You’ll have to have at least four to 6 treatments for most impressive results. The American Laser Center offers customised treatments for your individual situation and wants.

Improve The DNA Of Your Skin And Look Younger

Would you like to know how to look 30% younger? You can slow down and even reverse the signs of aging with this Nobel Prize winning secret. This does not require surgery or high priced dermatologists or any big expense. You will not need time off from work or any recovery period. This will reduce lines and wrinkles, add youthfulness and vitality to your face as well as reverse crows feet, redness and reverse age spots.

Based on the Nobel Prize winning study of Telomeres ( the time keepers that are attached to your dna strands) scientists have found that as you age and your cells divide, they noticed that your telomeres get shorter showing aging on your skin. They reasoned that if you could stop your telomeres from shortening you could actually slow down the aging of your skin. In fact if you could lengthen the telomeres you could actually look 30% younger and more vibrant.

Dr Sears has taken this Nobel Prize winning secret and created a product that will do just this. His Revive Cream contains a remarkable extract that HALTS aging and will extend the lifespan of your skin cells. It will delay the shortening of your telomeres and protects your skin’s DNA, so you can avoid the ravaging effects that come with age.

These are the results from clinical trials of Revive Cream: significant moisture increase in skin, decrease in redness and pore size, significant reduction of wrinkles, roughness and fine lines as well as an over 90% improvement in skin tone and elasticity.

Part of the reason for that wonderful fullness in your skin when you were younger was the presence of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is the stuff that dermatologists use to inject into the skin to get rid of frown lines, smooth out the skin and even plump up the lips. It is so popular because it actually allows your skin to absorb and hold a lot more moisture. This is important because the more water your skin holds the more elasticity it has so the less dryness that leads to wrinkles.

It really gets your skin to absorb more moisture in order to prevent dryness (which can cause wrinkles, and makes the skin more elastic.

Searching For Organic Skin Care Products? What Are They?

March 27, 2010 by Peter Albertonach

Do you know what organic skin care products are? Or are you a little confused?

What is the safest organic moisturizer? What is organic skin care? Where do you find the best organic skin care products?

These are some of the many words that people type into their favorite search engine every day. There is a wide ranging and growing interest in natural and organic skin care products.

But whilst many people are interested in finding out about organic skin care products most don’t know what they are exactly. And there’s no easy way to tell you what they are, because there is no formal definition of the term.

What does organic mean? Search the dictionary and youll find something like this:

characteristic of, pertaining to, or derived from living organisms.

So they came from something living.

That helps, but not a lot really.

For example, are organic skin care products made only from ingredients that come from certified organic sources? Perhaps. But then what about ingredients that come from sources in different countries? What are their organic certification standards?

So what happens where an ingredient is used from a non farm source? There are excellent skin care products using a particular Japanese seaweed. The sea isn’t “certified organic” is it?

But then the sea has to be clean doesn’t it? No, there’s all sorts of toxins and contaminants in the sea, depending on where you source the product.

So can you see the problem here? There isn’t a definition of what organic skin care products really are. And you can’t know if what you see marketed as organic really is. What is an “organic moisturizer” for example?

Confusing isn’t it? The same applies to natural skin care products.

So to get an answer we need to think about what someone who searches for “organic skin care products” is really searching for.

She is trying to find a skin care line that is safe to use, and works well. Because more and more consumers are learning that most big brand skin care products (and cosmetics and much more) are filled with chemical ingredients that may be dangerous to the health, and skin. Ingredients like mercury and lead.

And even skin care products labeled organic or natural can have suspect ingredients too.

It’s sad but true. Even using “organic” or “natural” products doesn’t guarantee safety. So there are many women worldwide searching for alternative products that are safe to use.

Knowing what women are searching for is useful.

These women want safe skin care products that work. Where do we look for these?

The first place to start is with the cosmetic safety database. Here you can search any of the ingredients in any products to see if they have any risk factor to health.

And you can also find, at the Campaign For Safe Cosmetics, a compact that any company can sign that evidences their intention to use only known safe ingredients. You won’t find any of the big brand names there that have signed.

So if you are considering cosmetics or skin care products from a company that hasn’t signed then don’t buy.

There’s 2 things you can do to find safe skin care products and cosmetics. Search the ingredients, and search the compact. Find out where to do these searches at my website.

But how do you know if the products work well? That’s another matter entirely. Perfectly safe products may not work well.

In my view the only real way to find out if products work well is to try them for yourself. But if you do that you may waste quite a bit of money trying products out.

Fortunately the company that makes the worlds finest skin care products offers a money back guarantee so you can try risk free.

If their products were no good they’d go broke giving money back, so it’s not a coincidence that their products are world class.

There’s a 2 step method of finding skin care products that are both safe, and effective.

Visit my website to find out more about using these simple searches, and also to find the best skin care products that offer you a 90 day money back guarantee.

Trouble Finding The Best All Natural Skin Care Products?

March 4, 2010 by Peter Clark

There is a worldwide movement towards more natural skin care products. And there’s a good reason for this. There are now millions of women looking for natural skin care and trying to determine which are the best all natural skin care products.

Slowly consumers are recognizing that our cosmetics and personal and body care products as well as many skin care products can contain ingredients that can potentially be dangerous.

For example lead was found in over 50% of big brand lipsticks tested in a recent study.

And it’s fine to be wanting to look better or smell better, but doing that at the risk of our health isn’t smart. Who wants lead on their lips?

As this is becoming more well known skin care manufacturers are recognizing this trend towards natural skin care and anti aging products and natural cosmetics, soaps and much much more. The are recognizing it and looking to enter the market.

Recently L’Oreal has purchased The Body Shop to get a toehold in the natural personal products market.

Back to looking at skin care products. What does “natural” or “all natural” mean for skin care products or cosmetics? No one really knows, there’s no formal definition.

It’s not known what natural formally means, and for this reason there are companies out there marketing “natural” products containing chemicals that most would not consider “natural”.

So if there are still “natural” products out there that we should avoid how do we find the best all natural skin care products?

We’re looking because we want to use the best skin care products that are SAFE to use. We don’t want to use any products that may pose any risk to our health in the process of using them.

So we can, once we know this, use this information to our advantage.

So how do we use this? We find the website for the Cosmetics Safety Database. Here you can search various ingredients used in products and find a rating of their potential health risks.

So you can look at any product and search the ingredients to see if they are considered unsafe to health. You could search “parabens” for example, (a popular chemical preservative) and see what risks parabens pose.

Then search out the website of the Campaign For Safe Cosmetics. There you can find a compact that any company can sign to pledge them to only producing safe products that don’t contain potentially dangerous ingredients. Get there and you can search this to see if the company that makes the products you use has signed.

And if you find a company that has signed the compact you know they have pledged themselves to making safe products.

So that covers safety. How do you know if the company that makes those all natural skin care products actually makes good skin care products? Well the best way I know is to find a company that gives you a money back guarantee on their products. Even amongst the good natural skin care companies getting a money back guarantee is rare.

And once you’ve done your search you’ll find that one company has signed the compact AND offers a full money back guarantee, and it’s that company that makes the best all natural skin care products.

Find out who they are on my website.

Past and Current Concepts Of Beauty

January 27, 2010 by Brandey Michelson

Beauty has been desired by women throughout the ages. Beauty is the thing that attracts men. Beauty opens doors that are closed to the ‘ugly’. Eve of the Old Testament was the beautiful temptress. Delilah and Cleopatra each used their beauty to wield power over men.

Although, women have always wanted to be beautiful, ideas about good looks have changed over time. In Victorian England it was considered a thing of beauty to have milky white skin that would be considered too pale by today’s standards. Girls preserved their paleness by staying out of the sun and limiting the time they went outside. Only the working class who toiled in all weathers had ‘ruddy’ skin which today might be described as a tan.

It is no longer paleness that is considered beautiful. Rather, the opposite has become true with the suntan being a requisite for modern beauty. The sun tan lotion industry is booming as sun bathing is is now an important element of a woman’s beauty regime. If the sun fails then there is always the tanning salon where the same effect can be achieved.

As the European ideal of beauty spread to the New World, it spelled disaster to women of colour who were never able to match up to that ideal. After the abolishment of slavery, black ladies (and men) did everything they could to lighten their skins to look more acceptable and appealing. Is wasn’t until the 1970′s when the concept of ‘black beauty’ was born in the United States that African-American women began to feel more comfortable with their dark complexions.

Today things have changed drastically. Anyone regardless of race can be considered attractive. Indeed, some of the modern beauty icons are black women including Tyra Banks, Halle Berry and Michelle Obama. Beauty relies much more on a clear complexion and youthful skin. There are certain standards that must be reached to possess Hollywood style beauty. These include pefectly white teeth, perfect but understated makeup and a wardrobe to befit.

A female can have the most amazing looking face in the world but if she is heavy then she is not considered beautiful. Since the days of corseted dresses women have sought to be slim or appear smaller than they are in order to achieve optimum looks. Corsets were tied so tight that in some cased damaged the woman’s structure permanently. Today, weight loss pills and weight loss programs have taken over where the corset left off.

A multi-million dollar weight loss industry has been spurned by women’s desires to be smaller and more attractive. Also fashions have also evolved to reflect the smaller beauty ideal. In the 1960′s it was the mini skirt to show of toned legs and thighs. Today it is the belly top with a woman’s midriff exposed to show her flat and toned abdomen.

Age seems to have everything to do with the modern concept of beauty. In order to be gorgeous you must look younger. This is one of the hardest things to keep up with for the beauty conscious individual. There are literally thousands of anti-aging skin care products that claim to help women restore their lost beauty through rejuvenation of young looking skin. Most simply don’t work while others are marginally more effective. For ladies for whom being beautiful is everything, there is always the cosmetic surgery option.

All You Need To Know About Women’s Perfume

August 1, 2009 by Vivian McNeill

The word “perfume” in fact comes from a Latin phrase that means “through smoke.” The people of Egypt and Mesopotamia often burned incense to mollify the gods. Perfumed oils were a very important part of ancient religious rituals. As the Persians and Romans began to refine their fragrances, perfume gradually became something that was not just reserved for ceremonial practices, but for pleasure as well. Egyptian women began to use fragrance on their face and hair. The Greeks would incorporate aromatic oils into their baths. Of course many cultures used perfumes to bury their dead. It helped to cover the smell of decaying flesh and honored the gods as well.

Some of the critical ingredients that were utilized in making perfumes in ancient times were myrrh, juniper, pistachio, fenugreek seeds, and the resin of the Matsic tree. In today’s market, perfumes are derived from a number of diverse sources, such as roots, seeds, leaves, twigs, resins, bulbs, woods, bark, fruits, honeycomb, musk, seaweed, lichens, flowers and blossoms.

Depending on the additives used and the concentration levels achieved, the specification of a fragrance falls into a distinct type. The most popular classifications are Floral Bouquet, Single Floral, Wood, Amber, Leather, Fougere, Chypre, Aquatic, Bright Floral, Green, Citrus, Gourmand, or Fruity.

Fragracnes have specified concentration metrics. A perfume’s concentration level is determined by its ratio of aromatic compounds to solvent (water and ethanol). Perfume extract delivers the strongest scent due to the concentration of aromatic ingredients ranging between 14-38%! Eau de Parfum or Parfum de Toilette is comprised of 8-18% of the aromatic compounds. Eau de Toilette falls one classification down with 4-14% scented compounds. Eau de Cologne stands at only 2-7% of aromatic compounds with body splashes and/or aftershave prodcuts containing just 1-2% of fragrance. The lesser the concentration, the less potent the perfume.

The majority of body products contain some sort and level of fragrance, from skin creams to face cleansers. Even with this true, there are still multiple products on the market whose single reason is to deliver a desirable scent. Perfume oil is the most potent and thus gives off a more intense perfume aroma than anything else. A miniature bit goes a long way. On the other hand, body sprays and splashes are on the opposite edge of the spectrum with just a trace of perfume that leaves a light hint scent. The majority of body lotions also include fragrance so that one is able to moisturize and wash in a pleasant aroma at the same time. It is imperative that you apply a perfume that compliments the smell of your body lotion if you choose to wear them both during a similar occasion.

Specific fragrances respond in a different manner to various body chemistries. Just casually sniffing a perfume container does not convey to you whether it will smell right on you or opposite. To learn if a certain fragrance is perfect for you, spot just a little amount on your skin and let it absorb in. Once the pheromones of your body have combined with the aroma of the fragrance, you should be able to determine if it’s the perfect match for you.

It is also important to consider your mental makeup and likes and dislikes when selecting a specific beauty fragrance. Everything about yourself will go into this selection process, particularly if you plan to use it as your special “signature” perfume.

Since so many emotions can be triggered by any one scent, make sure that the odor you pick creates pleasing ones. Long after you depart any social area, that sweet smell will remain reminding everyone present that you were there. Choose that fragrance wisely.
