Would You Like To Know The Fastest Way To A Flat Stomach

People today seem to be more informed about weight and belly fat than they ever were. With recent research confirming that your body shape can be a reliable indicator of health factors such as risk of heart disease, who can blame anyone for wanting to find the fastest way to a flat stomach?

People who watch a lot of television can attest to the daily bombardment of infomercials featuring products that promise to reduce their belly fat and help them achieving a flat stomach practically overnight. These products don’t always work as advertised and do very little to enable you to achieve a flat stomach.

Getting a flat stomach is all about working out effectively and regularly. There is no easy way to reduce belly fat and keep it off without hard work and diligent effort.

It is recommended that people first analyze their diet to find potential points of fat increasing foods. You need to be able to soft drinks, starchy and sugary foods as well as high fat fast foods from your diet. It might be difficult for some people since it’s a lifestyle change but it’s a very important step towards getting flat abs. You should understand that maintaining a healthy, trim body is more about proper diet and lifestyle choices than anything else.

You need to eat foods are high in protein. You don’t need to worry about calories at the moment, although you should strive to reduce your overall caloric intake. What you do need to worry about is eating foods that will help burn fat off your body. Eat things such as lean meats, fish and non-starchy vegetables. Consider including more high fiber vegetables in your diet.

The reason it is recommended that you eat a high protein dinner is because your body does most of its work when you are asleep. You might not believe this but the proteins in your food will burn body fat all night long. So in essence you will be burning fat as you sleep. Of course you should stop eating at least two to three hours before bedtime to allow proper digestion.

Exercise is important if you’re looking for the fastest way to a flat stomach and you should adopt a regular workout routine. While some people might be able to get away with going on a good diet this will not work for everyone and especially those who have lots of fat around their midsection. You can start by doing a few abs targeted exercises and slowly work yourself up to more advanced overall body exercises. With a good diet and regular exercise you will lose a lot of your belly fat before you even know it.

For some people fat is distributed differently than others. People who are most at risk for diabetes is when extra fat is being held on the midsection. These are the people most at risk for diabetes.

People who live sedimentary lives and who eat poorly are most at risk for diabetes. The solution is to eat more healthy vegetables, fruits, and lean proteins and exercise daily. You have to get the body moving to change your health for the better.

Carbohydrates need to be chosen wisely. You need to avoid simple carbs that burn very quickly and eat complex carbs like whole grains.

The truth is that there is a significant connection between type 2 diabetes and obesity. However, the great news is that that connection is within your control so that you can make simple changes to affect your own health and well-being for years to come!

You may have heard that diet and exercise is beneficial in helping to manage your diabetes. This is most certainly true and even more so when you at the best foods for controlling your diabetes.

It is true that sugar can be harmful to you if you have diabetes. However by itself sugar does not cause diabetes. The most common cause is from being obese. If you have diabetes you need to pay particular attention to the type of carbohydrates you eat. You need to pay attention to the ones high on the glycemic index.

The Glycemic index is a way of measuring how fast a food is metabolized in your body. The range is 1-100 and the higher the number the faster the food turns to sugar in your body. This is a simple way of monitoring your carbohydrate intake.

Foods that are lowering on the Glycemic index are the following: lentils, beans, whole grain breads, brown rice, and sweet potatoes. There is quite a variety in taste in all these foods so you can still have a delicious food and monitor your sugar intake at the same time.

The less processing a food undergoes the better it is for you. Take for example fresh fruit or vegetables compared to juices. The whole food will be lower on the index than the juices. While you do not have to be a vegetarian, it can help reduce other problems associated with diabetes. Cardiovascular problems are common with diabetes and eliminating all animal products will greatly reduce cholesterol and other health problems from them.

The other thing to watch out for are foods with high levels of saturated and trans fats. These can cause heart disease and other complications and should be avoided at all cost.

One basic rule you can use when trying to pick out the healthiest vegetables is that the ones with darker colors are better. In addition, cauliflower, green beans, carrots, broccoli, chili and peppers, are very good for you.

Obesity has started to overcome americas youth because of poor eating habits. Many of Americans diets are filled with carbohydrates and starches which turn into sugar. Sugar makes the pancreas work a lot harder to create insulin to deal with the extra sugar. Obesity is a leading factor in getting diabetes.

Some recent research is also pointing to a link between obesity and type two diabetes. In a study done at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine it was found that obese mice had an over abundance of a hormone called resitin. These same mice were unable to transport glucose efficiently. When given a drug to lower the resistance, the mice resumed their glucose transportation. These drugs are not available as of yet and human testing is still some time in the future. That does not mean that there is not another way to combat increasing resistans. Exercise is the magic bullet that for many has turned back the tide of diabetes.

Exercise causes the body to use more glucose which causes your blood sugar levels to drop. Studies have found that walking just 30 minutes a day will cause you to lose weight. These are great diabetes preventions.

Food Choices in Treating Diabetes

Diabetes is confirmed by doing a blood test measuring the glucose level in the blood. There are different types of diabetes. The blood sugar level goes up because either the body is not producing enough insulin to regulate blood sugar level or the body is not utilizing the insulin being produced by the body. Complications resulting from diabetes can result to organ damage to the eyes, kidney, nerves and the heart.

Diabetes when not properly controlled can lead to multiple organ failure. It is known that it can affect organs such as the eyes, kidney, nerves and the heart. Complications such as gangrene, edema, retinopathy are common for people with diabetes. Diabetes, if not inherited, can be avoided. It is greatly attributed to carbohydrate intake of the person. Carbohydrates is directly related to the blood sugar levels of the body. Just as the body needs other nutrients, excessive consumption of food rich in carbohydrates can lead to the development of diabetes.

Diabetic meal planning can be a mis-leading subject, with much false information bandied about. For instance – just because a diabetic has become dependent on insulin, it does not mean that they don’t have to worry about high blood sugar levels any more. Diabetics should also be wary of myths such as being able to eat anything as long as a meal is finished off with the use of bitter tasting foods – this won’t offset the rise in blood sugar! And please don’t place your faith in the idea that, as a diabetic, you can eat anything that is not sweet.

The diagnosis of diabetes will require lifestyle modification. It will require the diabetic to remain active and choose the food that they you eat with consideration to their condition. It is imperative that changes be made to direct concern to the rise in blood sugar level.

Once diagnosed, you will be forced to make lifestyle modifications to avoid further complications from the disease. There are many diabetics who live considerably normal lives as long as they keep their blood sugar levels in check and they remain physically active.

The diabetics diet should be guarded against consumption of carbohydrate-rich food. Why so much concern on carbohydrates? Carbohydrates directly relates to the blood sugar levels. There are certain food that contain large amounts of sugar. These high glycemic index foods are normally ones that people crave for, sweets, cakes, candies, ice cream. These are packed with sugar and carbohydrates that can be detrimental to the health of the diabetic.

Staying healthy has a lot to do with good eating habits and a little discipline. They are essential not only for the diabetic but for anyone wanting to stay healthy and avoid not only diabetes but other diseases as well. The idea of eating in moderation and exercise will go along way into maintaining a healthy body. It is okay to eat sweet foods so long as you dont overeat, reducing portions or replacing some foods with healthier alternatives will help you feel not being deprived of the tempting foods that you like.

Why Europeans Are Well Built

April 3, 2009 by Joshua Seth

What we see around us everyday we come to view as normal. Take on a new perspective and all that changes. This is why travel used to be considered an essential part of education.

Last week I was performing my hypnosis show on a cruise ship in Europe. It has been awesome (honestly, I can hardly believe I get paid to do this stuff!). Ive seen many wonders of the ancient world (the Colosseum in Rome, The Leaning Tower of Pisa, the ruins of Pompeii). And everywhere I go there is scrumptuous local food to sample (gelato in Monaco, grilled octopus in Greece, Pizza in Naples). And everything tastes different than it does in America.

Yes, the familiar foods even tastes different. Pizza tastes different, The crusts are thinner and the sauces less sweet. There are no fast food restaurants that I have seen. Instead they have little shops open to the street that have freshly prepared sandwiches and baguettes behind glass. Not burgers and fries. In general, the foods are served in smaller portions, are less sugary, and are more commonly made from locally grown ingredients. They are NOT of full of additives and preservatives and chemicals. They are simple, fresh, and local. Perhaps its no small coincidence that I have seen very few overweight Europeans in these areas.

Undoubtably, the fact that they get outside and walk more has something to do with this as well. You dont see everyone staring at TVs or laptop screens or plugged into cell phones and iPods. They are actually walking around and talking with one another. But I digress.

In many places worldwide the population is leaner and more fit than the United States. I notice this every time Im in Australia and New Zealand too. I think were slowly killing ourselves in the States with the foods we eat and the lifestyles we lead. Personally Id rather pay a bit more for my food and only eat fresh food than consume all the chemicals that most of our prepackaged foods now contain.

120 million Americans are now severely overwieght (according to the governments own statistics). Thats a third of our population. Many of these people will develop other disease as a result of this condition, like diabetes, heart disease, and certain kinds of cancer. This is not the case in Europe and most of the rest of the world. Were doing this to ourselves. Its time to stop this madness and do something about it.

* Eliminate junk food just because its cheap or its fast or its convenient.

* Dont eat simply because its on your plate and you feel obligated to finish it.

* Eat it because its what your body needs to replenish itself and restore its energy.

* Reconnect with your mind with your body.

* Know what its like to feel really satisfied after a meal instead of stuffed full.

* Learn what a real tomato tastes like.

* Take back your life.

Look around you, what you see isnt normal, its the sad result of the disconnection of our minds from our bodies and our bodies from the land on which we live. Weve been trained to think that following diets and counting calories are the roadmaps to fitness and good health. Its much simpler than that.

If you’d visit the Greek Isles or Cote dAzur in France and youd see that you can be absolutely perfectly satisfied with a freshly baked baguette, some olive oil, herbs, and tomatoes picked from from the garden out back, with perhaps a a small bit of protein and a single glass of red wine. Consume slowly with a beautiful companion and enjoy while overlooking the sea on a sun drenched afternoon.

No rules. Just life as it was meant to be lived. Simple, satisfying, and free.

My Experience with the Atkins Diet (part 2).

April 2, 2009 by Owen Jones.

Some people have to try to make your life miserable, if you let them. It was obvious to everyone that I looked and felt better, but some people just have to try to spoil it. I was told: lots of people have died of kidney or liver failure after being on Atkins I read it in the newspaper; you will have a heart attack, it’s not natural; your cholesterol will climb sky high and you will need your toes amputated or you will have a stroke; it will affect your eyesight. All sorts of rubbish. So, I went to see my GP, who admitted that he did not know anything about the Atkins diet, but he also added that he had heard nothing bad about it either. He sent me for a series of tests at the hospital and the results were all satisfactory. He was happy that I’d lost 18 lbs and so was I. Six weeks later, I went for another cholesterol check-up, because of the high fat levels in the diet and, although my cholesterol level was up very slightly, the doctor said there was no cause for concern at all.

The book warns that you might suffer from bad breath (halitosis). I don’t know whether I did or not – no-one mentioned it, but I started brushing my teeth four or five times a day just in case. I guess that’s another benefit of Atkins: increased awareness of oral hygiene. It also warns of constipation. I didn’t get that either, although I didn’t give up black coffee, which has always had a laxative effect on me. But how can you become constipated if you’re allowed to eat well over 1lb of greens a day? I wasn’t eating that well before the diet! So my two main concerns were unfounded.

After a couple of weeks I was getting bored not going out so much. Not with the diet, but because I’m single and am used to going to the pub (and drinking beer). So, I decided to treat this scientifically. One day, after work, I had three pints of Guinness and felt merry. Before the diet, I would have drunk five or six pints to feel the same. To my delight, the next morning the ketone stick told me that I was still ‘on the diet’. Over the following weeks, I really enjoyed finding out what would ‘work’ and what would not. I discovered that cider had to be avoided at all costs; some beers and some lagers were all right; red and white wine were OK. Consuming alcohol does not knock you off the diet, but it slows down your rate of progress. However, even slow progress is progress, I say. Better than giving up the diet or giving up going out.

Don’t let people encourage you to ‘just have a little bit’. They don’t understand or don’t want to understand the trouble they’re causing you. One’s body can hold two days worth of carbohydrates: one square of chocolate, one slice of bread, a bowl of cornflakes or one sugar in your coffee will cost you TWO days to clear out of your system. Don’t let people do it to you. This is not a diet that you can stop and start when you like, in fact I think that it probably could be dangerous to keep allowing your ketone and other levels to fluctuate wildly. There are also the high fat levels in the content of the Atkins diet, which is not dangerous if you keep to it, because you body devours fat and cholesterol in the absence of carbohydrates.

The story ends at this pont, with me having got down to under 16 stone and keeping it there, until very recently when I moved to the Far East to live. Once I get used to the food and have my own house and own kitchen, I will get down to 15 stone, I’m sure I will ” with very little effort.

Anyway, thank you, Mr. Blackwell, wherever you are, you changed my life and my understanding of food and thank you, Mr. Atkins too.
