It can be difficult getting started with weight loss – it’s not the easiest thing in the world. One obstacle is there are so many options out there that it can troublesome deciding which direction to choose. It can be challenging both physically and psychologically.
Best place to start? By deciding exactly what you desire.
Starting out, you’re going to have a thousand different things to think about all at once. Clear out all of these thoughts and focus on asking yourself what you really want to achieve.
Realistic goals cannot be set starting out if you only have a vague idea of what you want to achieve. For example, it isn’t enough to say “I want to lose weight”. You have to be more specific such as “I want to lose 30 pounds” or “I want to trim 2 inches from my waistline”.
The important thing about setting your goal is that you need to put some numbers to it. By doing so, you will have an easy way of measuring your progress and determining how effective the methods you are using are.
Your ultimate target, of course, is that one ‘main’ goal. However, it is helpful to set numerous other ‘sub goals’ along the way and set a time period on each of them.
For example, if you wanted to lose 30 pounds within 6 months, you could set yourself the fairly undemanding target of losing 5 pounds per month. That way, you?ll have something to work against each and every month, rather than simply one final target that could seem to be a long way off.
When you do this, you are more likely to achieve that one final goal because you are less likely to procrastinate.
One of the more important things about goal setting is that they should be challenging but, at the same time, realistic. If your goals are not challenging, there is the tendency to put them off because you know you can achieve them with ease.
Similarly, goals that are unrealistic are going to be impossible for you to achieve and will likely just discourage you.
In order to keep you motivated, your goals should strike a balance between challenging and realistic. With this balance, you will get a rewarding sense of achievement when you accomplish them.
In summary, by setting up goals as described above, you are more likely to win the weight loss battle!

Everyone wonders how all those Hollywood celebrities diet and maintain their weight. Sometimes they do look good for the camera. However there are many times they look sickly and ill. No matter how they brand their name. Starvation is starvation, no matter what kind of becoming face you may apply to it.
You see it in all the tabloids, this person lost 100 pounds again, this one gained 100 pounds, and then lost 150 pounds. Some are not as dramatic; this one lost 40 pounds and is a television spokesperson, because the previous celebrity diet spokesperson gained the weight back. The fact is they may be starving themselves to lose weight, fasting like they are going through a famine.
Losing a lot of weight in a short period of time might be normal for somebody who is very overweight because they are carrying a lot of stored fat around with them. On the other hand, for somebody who is just one or two dress sizes over their preferred weight, losing so much weight in so little time is very unhealthy and can lead to serious health problems. Successful dieting takes time and you are not going to go from overweight to slim overnight. You did not gain all that weight overnight so you will not shift it in such a short time frame either.
Besides the fact that even if you do lose a lot of weight in such a short time, you will not be able to maintain it, unless you are committed to a maintenance program. Proper dieting involves certain skill as well as a strong sense of will power. Many of those Hollywood or Celebrity diets are actually very unhealthy for your body. Is it worth it to diet like a celebrity, just to make you unhealthy?
Hollywood juice diet is the only thing you drink for a few days, no other essential nutrients or water. The weight comes off because you are starving, like being in a famine, but once you stop the juice diet and start eating regularly again, the weight will come back. If you only drink a juice diet without food, your body is going to suck up any food it gets and store it for later, in case you encounter another famine.
Like with a lot of popular Hollywood diets, when your body feels like it is being starved, it will rebel. Your body will fight to hold on to its fat stores, thinking there is a food shortage. You need a long term diet rather than a faddy Hollywood diet if you want to reach and maintain your target weight.
