Why is Acne so difficult to get rid off?

Acne is not just for adolescents. Adults can get it also, and it can occur repeatedly, clearing up and then coming right back. Read on to learn about some of the currently used acne treatments, and you’ll also get some tips on acne prevention.

If you got acne as a teen, it was probably acne vulgaris. This malady is quite different from the equally-embarrassing acne rosacea. Of all acne treatment discoveries, one of the greatest has to be the use of topical retinoic acid, or Retin-A. A couple of newly formulated, slow releasing formulas can decrease the skin irritation that Retin-A can sometimes bring about.

There are new, controlled release formulas that reduce the irritation that this medication is known for. Other treatments are designed to eliminate the causes of acne, and they are often used together. They include: Alpha hydroxy acids such as lactic acid, gluconic acid, and glycolic acid -Antibiotics (although over use will lead to antibiotic resistance) -Birth control pills -Topical antibiotic creams -Benzoyl peroxide -Accutane for severe cases

Accutane is the most hazardous of all of the above options, due to its risk of birth defects If you’ve chosen to use Accutane, and you’re female, make sure that you have a reliable birth control method on hand.

If you go to a doctor for your acne, it will be treated surgically. It can also be done at home, but this isn’t usually advisable because popping pimples by hand can result in scarred and infected skin. Most severe cases of acne will require a doctor’s care and treatment.

Milder cases of acne are usually treated by over the counter treatments such as Benzoyl peroxide. They rarely return except if you get a case of adult acne. You can visit your local drug store to see a bunch of over the counter options.

Alternatively, some have success with the many over-the-counter acne treatments available today. If you have ever tried to buy an acne remedy, you probably know that there are a lot of choices in this area, and no one choice is right for all of us.

If you want a good at home acne treatment, try microdermabrasion treatment kits for home use. These kits provide the benefit of microdermabrasion techniques while allowing you to do it in your home, which eliminates the need to find time to work several appointments into your schedule. Not only do they save you time, but microdermabrasion home treatments kits can also save you money over the costly visits to a spa and they really work.
